Galena has been used in everything from English to American style ales for its bittering properties as it gives a very clean bitterness that won’t provide any off flavors. It is, however, a flexible variety that also goes well in a porter or a stout. Used for flavor rather than bittering, Galena will give off hints of citrus that are different than Cascade, but still worth a quaff.
