The Warrior® Brand YCR 5 CV. hop variety came on to the scene with a bang. It was supposed to be the fabled 20/20 variety that would dominate the alpha market (a hop variety that could deliver 4,000 pounds of hops per acre and 20% alpha acids). Promises promises … It quickly petered out as the dominant alpha hop variety and acreage has subsequently plummeted making it hard to come by these days. It’s mild and clean bittering properties combined with an equally mild citrusy and herbal flavor profile still make it an awesome choice for people who are looking for an American alpha hop that will play well with other varieties.
