Nugget was born in the age of disco when Starbucks was just beginning.  It was the dominant bittering hop back in the day before super alphas came along. Today, it’s prized for its aroma and depending on how it is used it can offer anything from melon and mango notes to apple/pear and dried apricots. Nuggets offer a crisp clean bitterness but, more than that, they offer a complex flavor profile not found in some newer proprietary varieties. Nugget is a gift that can keep on giving whose performance depends largely on the imagination of the brewer.
